This is a hand forged, pattern welded Anglo-Saxon seax. The blade is based on a Wheeler Type III seax and is made from 5 pattern welded bars. Each bar has 18 layers and is constructed to form a twist / straight/ twist pattern.
 
The grip is made from fruit wood and decorated with a ring and dot pattern.
 
The sheath is made from veg tan leather dyed light brown and edged with brass trim.
